Alexander Gama, Brazilian advertising executive, and entrepreneur works in the advertising and communications field. Gama is the founder and CEO of Neogama which is listed as one of the top 20 agencies in Brazil. As the Global Chief Creative Officer, he was the first to lead a global network of advertising agencies of the British-based agency network.
The Publicis Groupe Global Creative Board is a committee that has six worldwide creative leaders of agencies that are part of the Global holding company, of which he is the only Brazilian member. Gama’s expertise in the field of copywriting and his record of accomplishments has won him many awards.
His career, started in 1982 at Ogilvy then DMG. By 1994 he gave up his position with DMG and went to ALMAP/BBDP as a partner. In 1996, he was appointed as president and a member of the governing council of Y&R where he was in charge of operations as well as Wunderman. Gama was the first creative specialist to have the job of overseeing two different communications at the same time in Brazil.
By 1999 he was ready to make a name for himself as an entrepreneur and created Neogama. This agency has unique marketing solutions that are offered to Brazil-based businesses. Now after 18 years Neogama is known as the heavyweight of advertising. He merged Neogama with BBH in 2002, in 2013 he was made the chief creative officer of BBH and in 2016 he gave up his position there and Neogama is now a standalone agency.
His awards are many including, being elected Agency Director of the Year in 2006, The Cabore Award for Entrepreneur of the year in Communications and was voted as one of the top 3 advertising men in Brazil, both in 2007. One of the most important leaders of communications in 2009, and Company of the Year in 2013.
